Drain Tile and Sump Pump System Simplified!

Drain Tile and Sump Pump systems are important features to keeping a dry basement. Drain tile system are installed in basements to gather the water around your foundation wall and direct it to the sump pump witch then pumps it out directly outside that's called a splash out. Some cities in the North Shore Chicago land area with storm sewers allow home owners to drop the sump pump discharge line in to the storm sewer. Some cities are strict and do not allow discharge into storm sewer. Running the excess water away from your house is key to having a well installed system. Flood controls and Overhead sewer system will protect you from sanitary sewer flooding but with flash floods and large volumes of water around your home a drain tile system is what helps keep water out. In some case a house can be protected from the sanitary sewer but seepage and foundation cracks will allow water in that will cause you to flood from hydro-static pressure that can crack your foundation floor and create settling problems around your home.
