Sewage ejector pump systems are always confused for sump pump systems. There are some similarities but both have different purposes for your homes plumbing. I am focusing on the Ejector pump system and the main difference from a sump pump system is that the ejector pump handles sewage and grey water. When your home has a overhead sewer system and you have a bathroom or either laundry in the basement you will always have a sewage ejector pump system to help eject the water up into the overhead sanitary sewer drain. Ejector pumps system will always have a 2" discharge pipe while the sump pump systems are  1-1/2 discharge line  most of the time. Another good way to determine if it is a ejector pump system or sump pump system is the type of lid that is sealing the pit. Ejector pumps will always have a sealed lip to prevent sewer smell, while sump pump system have an open lid that usually have condensate lines draining into them.

Reliance Plumbing installs the PHCC Glentronics Battery Back Up system that works well and a better choice for your wallet. There are three different types of units which include the 1000, 1730, and 2400 system  The model # stands for how many gallons per hour the backup pump can discharge water. The 1000 is the most basic unit and I like it because it is compatible with the maintenance free battery witch is nice because you never have to add distilled water to the battery. The 1730 is a good unit and pumps more water per hour but the only downfall of this system is that it is not compatible with the maintenance free battery and needs to uses the acid battery that has to be maintained every couple moths. The 2400 is also a great system and you can use the maintenance free battery and is usually a system that many customers like because of the price and the features.

When installing the back up system you should always install a separate discharge line from your primary sump pump. Northbrook Plumbers Reliance Plumbing Sewer Lining Chicagoland

Reliance Plumbing went out and lined about 25 feet of sanitary sewer drain line from 6' pipe to 4' transition inside home. This process saved the homeowner lots of money and unnecessary trenching. The video goes over the diffident steps that go into lining a Sewer. First you have to measure the line with camera and have to measure the exact length to be lined. Next they cut the liner material, bladder, and retrieval line. Next they remove the air from liner to prepare to pour the resin and epoxy mixture. Northbrook Plumbers Broken Overhead Sanitary Sewer Repair

As nature takes it course a common problem for customers with Overhead Sanitary Sewer systems is caused by Earth plate tectonics and settling. Over time your home will settle cause by plate tectonics and pipes will shift and eventually break over the years. In most cases it causes a home full of sewage for nowhere to go. And worst case scenario it washes into the ground that causes the ground to be saturated with sewage water around your foundation. A common sign that your Overhead Sewer is broken is a Sewage smell coming from your sump pump pit, NOT to get confused with an ejector pump pit. This is a sign because your Sump Pump pit in most cases has a drain tile system that goes around the perimeter of your home that collects natural ground water to discharge it away from your home to prevent flooding. So when you do get a sump pump pit the smells like sewage good chance the Sewer system is broken and leaking into the drain tile system that is causing the smell. So what’s the solution to this problem well it includes excavating outside your home and replacing the pipe that is broken. Sometimes it breaks and you could still make a connection to the existing cast-iron pipe that comes out the side of your foundation wall. In the event the old pipe is broken flush to the wall we would have to remove the pipe and run new sewer line threw the foundation wall. In most cases running a new pipe is beneficial because material upgrades are always being made and there is a thicker grade pipe called Ductile iron also known as ductile cast iron that last a lot longer and is more durable to the settling of your home. So if you have an overhead sewer system you should have it checked every year or no more than two years for proactive maintenance by a professional by rodding all the roots going out to the street to prevent future backups.
