What To Look For When Picking A Toilet!

When choosing a toilet what important features do you want? Well from a Plumbers perspective the key things to look for are, gallons per flush aka "gpf", bulk removal with out clogging, and cleanliness. Gpf is important because on older model 3.5 gpf toilet lots of water is being wasted with every flush. Water conservation is important because 97% of our water in the world is salt water and 2.5% of our fresh water is locked in our ice caps. So that leaves only .5% of fresh water available for use. So taking a step to more High-Efficiency toilets is important to preserve our fresh water source. When switching to 1.28 gpf toilet many customers hesitate to switch because they think performance will be compromised and the toilet will not remove any waste. Well with new technology and advancements in the flush valve the 1.28 gpf provides even better performance that the older 3.5 gpf. With this new technology the cleanliness is improved and I know this feature is important because no one likes embarrassing strikes left behind. So what toilet would a professional recommend that provides all these key features.

Why Sewer Maintenance is Important to your Home!

Roots Pulled out from a Neglected Sewer line

Reliance Plumbing takes maintenance very serious and it is required in almost everything we own. For example a car needs a oil change every 3 thousands miles, and home owners often look past there sewer line. This can cause lots of damage to your home and hurt your pockets. When a sewer line is neglected roots and other build up from natural use can cause your drain lines to back up into your home. Sewer water contains a lot of bacteria that should be sanitized by a professional. But before the damage can be cleaned up, flow to your sewer line most be restored. So by neglecting your line and not paying for simple maintenance every "year/two years" it can cost more in the long run. And when lines are not maintained it can cause further damage to the structure of your line. This happens when roots grow into the line from the pipe connections and grow big enough to break the pipe. So make sure you call your local plumber for simple maintenance that can save you lots of money and time.
